| Verm's Holiday Mapping Contest Halloween
Do you have what it takes to map to the tune of pumpkins and costumes? Then show me!
In this contest, I'd like you to create a single 17x13 map showing off a halloween scene of your creation. Add whatever you want to it-custom tiles, characters, events, whatever will make it look all the more Halloweeny!
Rules 1) Please... Keep things PG-13ish. I'm not one for blood and gore. 2) No parallaxing, keep it purely made in the maker. 3) No scripts allowed. ex: No light effects, fogs, etc.
Map screenshots are due by November 1st: Post them here. The winning maps will be honored in my "Holiday Mapping Contests" Hall of Fame, coming soon.
Have fun, and let the spirit of Halloween fly free in your maps!

| Wait are we aloud to use tints on our maps? I'm thinking I should join. We can use any tilesets? like RTP or Mack for example?
I'll probably join for the heck of it!
Halloween is not far away, I'm thinking i should make a spooky game. Like a 15 minute game or less. |

| Sadly I'm going to have to pass on this contest. To many limitations on being able to be artistic. D: |

| Can we use RPG Maker 2003? 'Cause mapping on there is better 'cause you aren't forced to use RTP. |

| Good to see a legitimate mapping contest. Parallax mapping is really nice and brings out not only the creator's potential, but it is really not much of a map, but a "picture" if you will. I wanna take a crack at this to see if I'm still hanging on to my old VX abilities, or if I really need to touch them up. |

| Hi! Here's my entry: - Spoiler:
Well, maybe it's not really that good... At first, I was going to use a haunted, abandonned tower but due to the size restrictions I also added a few lulz on the pic to entertain you guys By the way, I made this map at midnight But anyway, the story is a boy who entered the abandonned graveyard to save his friend who kidnapped by an unknown ghost. |

| The Results1. Luiishu535
2. Lymmet
3. TheEmeraldboy100You all did a great job, and I thank you for entering the contest! Some comments for the maps: Luuishu535) The tinting, scenery, and plot all combined really made this one hit home. Personally, I like the one without the darkness better. Lymmet) Excellent use of macks tilesets! The eyes in the cave and those pumpkins really brought out the Halloween spirit. The trees that cut off at the bottom are kinda weird, but other than that, I like it. TheEmeraldboy100) The events are the real strength to this one. The boy's expression really makes you wonder "What's going on?". The scenery is excellent too. ^_^ I'm really glad you entered this contest, guys, and thanks for participating. Stay tuned for Verm's Holiday Mapping Contest: Chirstmas, coming soon! |
